What are the National Training / Traineeship Awards? A: The NSW Training Awards are conducted annually by the NSW Department of Education and Training (DET) to recognise outstanding achievement in the vocational education and training sector. The Awards honour and reward the achievements of students, teachers, training organisations, employers and small business. Entries into the each years Training Awards closed in May of the following year Winners in all categories are announced at the NSW Training Awards Presentation Dinner.. NSW winners* will then compete with winners from all states and territories for the Australian Training Awards.(*except the Vocational School Student of the Year and the Minister's Award for a VET in Schools Teacher which are NSW-only categories.)
