Mortgage Broking

The Mortgage Broking industry has experienced considerable growth in recent years providing many opportunities for advisors who like dealing with the public and have great communication skills.

As with many roles in the financial services sector there are entry level requirements to be a member of industry associations. For the Mortgage and Finance Industry Association of Australia (MFAA) these requirements are that you have industry experience or that you complete a Certificate IV in Financial Service (Finance/Mortgage Broking).

The Australian College of Commerce & Management offers the Certificate IV in Financial Services (Finance/Mortgage Broking) designed to assist you with your industry association membership such as membership of the MFAA.

Consisting of eight study modules, the content covers skills and knowledge in applying professional principles in finance, preparing & presenting loan applications, complying with legislation and providing broking services.

The feature of the Australian College program is that there is no need to attend classes. The course is self paced using work books or online materials. This means that the course can be completed at a time and a place that suits students.

An industry experienced trainer is allocated to students as their personal the coach and mentor for successful completion of the course. The Australian College course may also attract funding from the government for employees who, regardless of their experience, don’t currently hold a formal qualification.* This funding can be used to pay for the course.* Enrolling new employees in the course within the first 3 months of their employment can result in added financial bonuses.

* Eligibility of employers for traineeship incentives and the amount of incentives available, will be assessed and determined by an Australian Apprenticeship Centre. Eligibility and incentives will vary depending on the characteristics of your employee, the training course chosen and successful completion of the course by your employee.
