New Worker Traineeships About Traineeships Information download List of Traineeships (NSW) List of Traineeships (Non-NSW) New Worker Eligibility for Traineeships Australian Apprenticeship Centres determines the eligibility of employees for New Worker Traineeships. The eligibility of employees to participate in Traineeships and the employers’ entitlement to Incentives is generally determined by the following criteria: the employee must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident; and the employee cannot already hold a formal qualification; and for new Worker Traineeships the employee must be registered as a Trainee within 3 months of starting work. Longer periods apply for part-time employees. In certain circumstances the course may still be funded where the employee has a formal qualification. Contact us to arrange specific advice from an Australian Apprenticeships Centre. What Incentives are Available*? In total, employers may be entitled to up to $4000 for each eligible employee. The payments are spread across the training period as follows: $1500 upon commencement and registration of the traineeship (this takes approx 3 months) $2500 upon completion of the traineeship period and training course. Determining Eligibility for Incentives The College will arrange an Australian Apprenticeships Centre to assess your exact entitlement to incentives and the amount of incentives and when they are payable. Who Pays the College Course Fees The relevant state government meets the cost of the Colleges tuition fees for eligible new employees, for most qualifications, leaving only the compulsory annual Enrolment Fee to be met by the employee or employer. So for the majority of your new employees (an employee who has been employed by the employer for less than 3 months) that are eligible to participate in a traineeship program there are no tuition fees paid for by you.
